We’ve always enjoyed the Business Show and all feel that this was the best one to date. There was lots of engaging personal talks, great networking and an all round buzzing atmosphere.
It’s been a busy couple of days
for the JournoLink team. We’ve been exhibiting and meeting lots of new and old
clients at The Business Show 2016 down at the ExCel Centre. We hope those of
you who attended enjoyed it and we would especially like to thank those who
came to see talks on Small Business PR (Think like Goliath and Less like
David ) by brand ambassador Tetteh Kofi and head of
partnerships Emily-Jane Brown.
We’ve always enjoyed the Business Show and all feel that this was the best one to date. There were lots of engaging personal talks, great networking and an all round buzzing atmosphere. Everyone was keen to engage; to promote themselves and their brand, and the special promotion we ran for monthly and annual accounts was very well received by many new clients.
Here are 3 PR Tips we’d like to share from the show:
· Current business cards are a must have at events. Tetteh says: ‘every event that you do to promote your brand depends on the connections you make and the information you give your new contacts about your brand, yourself and your business. Shows are a fantastic networking opportunity so it’s even more important to come prepared to pass the right and relevant information. The most basic “must have” is a good stock of current business cards. When you leave each connection they must know your name, the name of your business and brand, your telephone number, your twitter handle, your website address, and your preferred social media platform. All can be delivered on that tiny card, the best aide memoire you could leave’.
· Get engaged and involved. There are so many different seminars and networking opportunities to get involved with at the Business Show, you really have to take up this chance to both learn from and inspire others. The best lessons in business can often be learnt from other people’s own stories, on how they and their business managed to get ahead. Listening to seminars is interesting and causes your growth; you get to hear from all kinds of people with businesses big and small. You will always find someone to help you get where you want to be, you just have to seek them out!"
· Ask yourself the ‘so what’ question. In Emily-Jane and Tetteh’s talk on PR they said, “when writing press releases remember to make sure the points you’re publishing are really significant and compelling. Ask the question “so what” to the news in your press release.” If the answer you’d get would make a difference to the lives and business of your readers, then you know you have a piece of news worth putting out, and journalists will want to share it.
