Young Thug cancels Australian tour days after name change

Young Thug was due to perform this Saturday at the inaugural Sydney City Limits music festival and a headline show in Melbourne. He was then to join rapper Future in a collaborative concert in Brisbane on Sunday.

LiveNation issued a statement saying “Live Nation regret to announce that Atlanta rapper Young Thug will no longer be making the journey to Australia after being unable to secure a visa.”

Ironically, Future canceled his tour back in 2017, but sadly due to a death of a friend. Future later announced it was his close friend Seth Firkins 36, who passed away. Firkins was renowned audio engineer known for his work with Rihanna, Gucci Mane, and Jay-Z. He died in his sleep with no confirmation of the cause.

Nevertheless, the Future show this Sunday appears to be going ahead with-out Young Thug.

Young Thug also made news recently announcing on Twitter that he will be changing his name to SEX. We later learned he could be referring to the title of his new album.

He previously wanted to change his stage name to his birth name “Jeffery” in 2016 saying “I had a long-term relationship with Young Thug and I’m kind of picky. So I felt like I ain’t wanna be in front of Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey. I ain’t want my kids to grow up and call me Thug. I don’t want anybody to kind of look at me like that. So I’m gonna just use my real name.”

In related Young Thug news, according to XXLmag news, the rapper has found himself in legal battle with Heritage Select Homes after the real estate agency hit him with a $2 million lawsuit for failing to make mortgage payments on his Georgia mansion.

The rapper fired back at the lawsuit, saying he shouldn't have to pay because the company sold him a mansion that had already suffered significant damage. Thugger argues that Heritage Select knew the home had issues before they sold it to him but didn't make him aware of the damage.
