FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Yorkshire-based digital motoring firm, The Car Buying Group, has been named the North’s fastest growing tech company in the Northern Tech 100 League Table.

Formed in 2014, The Car Buying Group provides a fair and fast way to sell a car online, servicing customers across the UK with their nationwide, free collection service.

The Northern Tech 100 league table ranks the top 100 fastest growing tech companies in the North and The Car Buying Group was presented with 1st place by GP Bullhound at an event in Newcastle on 30th March 2017.

A panel of judges, including David Rowan, former editor of WIRED UK, and Carol Kane, CEO and co-founder of Boohoo, assessed high growth achievers across the North.

Alongside The Car Buying Group, which topped the overall list, Sky Betting, Azzure IT and TheLadBible were also named in the Northern Tech 100 League Table.

The Car Buying Group was formed by young entrepreneur Tom Marley just under three years ago, with the support of four shareholders, all of which have exceptional experience of growing and nurturing startups in the motor trade and digital arenas.
The firm has experienced rapid growth following its first two years in operation, increasing from a £3m turnover in year one to a £10m in year two and £24m in year three. The Car Buying Group now has projections to exceed £65m in year four.
Tom Marley says:

“We’re thrilled to have been named alongside some of the country’s leading tech companies. The tech sector in the North is rapidly evolving and The Car Buying Group is incredibly proud to be a part of that. Although we operate on a national basis, it was a strategic decision to base ourselves in the North as the region has developed an outstanding reputation for itself as a home for profitable tech companies and fantastic talent. It’s great to have been recognised for all our hard work over the last three years and we’re very excited for the future of The Car Buying Group and the technology sector in the North.”
