A Yorkshire-based wedding lighting business has been awarded a prestigious industry award.

Cleckheaton-based Wedding Venue Lighting, formed in 1997, has been awarded the Finishing Touches award at the Wedding Industry Awards.

The successful award win, as chosen by former brides and grooms, sees the business recognised for their attention to detail and adding the finishing touches to thousands of weddings and events since the firm was established almost 20 years ago.

Wedding Venue Lighting is owned and operated by Matt Butcher, who boasts an impressive 17 years’ experience in the lighting and entertainment industry.

The company prides itself on excellent customer service, reliability and professionalism through all aspects of their business. The award ceremony was held at the Rockliffe Hall Darlington, County Durham on Monday 7 November.

The business which has successfully won the award two years in a row hold ambitious plans to win at the national Wedding Industry Awards, held on January 12 at Café de Paris in London.

Managing director and founder of the business Matt Butcher says:

Wedding Venue Lighting has become an established and award winning wedding company which supplies lighting services to more than 300 weddings a year.

Wedding Venue Lighting was formed in 1997 by sound and lighting expert Matt Butcher, following his career as a wedding DJ and his passion for technology.

Matt launched the business following increased interest in wedding lighting hires from his DJ business. The business now established 19 years, Wedding Venue Lighting is now run by Matt and a team of eight.

Plans for growth include the addition of a new van to the business resulting in a three-van fleet. Wedding Venue Lighting will also introduce a range of new products in the new year including a rose flower wall, a rustic backdrop, a multipurpose wooden dancefloor alongside the addition of the second mirror photo booth.
