Set up April 2015, MacComms is founded and run by leading West Yorkshire businesswoman Ellie MacDonald who has more than eight years’ PR and marketing experience.
Ellie comes from the fastest growing marketing and PR agency in West Yorkshire, Faith PR where she worked as account manager, managing around a dozen accounts at any one time to enhance the profile and promotion of a range of businesses.

Prior to this Ellie worked for the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce where she spent two years as Marketing Manager. Responsible for delivering the Chamber's marketing and communications strategy, Ellie took an active role in implementing an active schedule of PR and communications.
The role also included brand management and the planning and execution of marketing campaigns to recruit and retain new businesses into membership. Here, Ellie also developed a number of social media accounts for a range of sub brands, created a YouTube channel for case studies and events produced in-house, began a LinkedIn group, a Google+ presence and used Facebook to showcase event images.

Prior to this Ellie worked for the award winning Community Interest Company Yorkshire Energy Services, beginning on the contract to deliver the national Energy Saving Trust locally through the advice centre for South and West Yorkshire. She also project managed a leading conference, exhibition and awards ceremony as well as marketing a number of council-backed insulation schemes.

Today, MacComms has helped more than 20 firms to raise their profile, from fellow start-up’s to global brands, including the largest paper manufacturer in the world.

Keen to give back to the local community, Ellie is a trustee for the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust, taking an active role in raising awareness for, and fundraising for the charity, which is evident within MacComms’ first birthday in business event, attended by 60 people which raised £350 for the trust and secured pledges from business owners and supporters to continue to support the charity.

Ellie has also supported the Town Foundation and Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice by dedicating time to volunteer at events and she has assisted with the PR for Leeds Cat Rescue.

Having accelerated MacComms to a reputable PR-led marketing and communications firm with significant events management experience, the firm has experienced phenomenal growth and is now recruiting for additional full time staff to join the growing team.
