FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The founder of a Brighouse-based payment services provider has been nominated the Emerging Entrepreneur representing Yorkshire in a national award.
James Howard, 31, of Yorkshire Payments, beat off competition from dozens of entries to pick up BQ’s Emerging Entrepreneur award for the region at an awards ceremony held at The Hilton, Newcastle, on Wednesday 22 February 2017.
James formed Yorkshire Payments in 2013 and has grown the business substantially in less than four years.
James now leads a team of 33 with ambitious growth plans and a projected turnover of £1.7million this year.
James’ vision has remained the same since he started the company, which is to provide safe, secure and efficient payment solutions to a range of businesses across the county. Yorkshire Payments boasts the position as the only independent service organisation of card payment solutions in the region, providing strong, local customer service to a range of Yorkshire businesses.
Bryan Hoare, BQ managing director, said:
“Entrepreneurs are at the heart of the economy, so it’s important that we continue to support their ambitions and celebrate their successes.”
James Howard added;
“It is an honour to have picked up this award. I started the company at just 28 years old and have experienced my fair share of challenges but I have a great team behind me now and we have exciting plans for the future!”
Yorkshire Payments is a Yorkshire payment services provider, supplying businesses with electronic payment services. The fast-growing firm offers a variety of secure digital payment options from hand held terminals to online payment platforms.
Operating from their Brighouse base, they boast an impressive client base of more than 4,500 businesses who they provide simple, secure and reliable payment solutions to.
Yorkshire Payments was formed by young entrepreneur James Howard. Beginning with two staff members at a small base in a Halifax-based printing firm in 2013, they then moved to Jeremy’s above the Boathouse in Brighouse. From this small base, the firm has seen substantial growth.
James’s vision has remained to provide independent payment solutions to a range of businesses across the Yorkshire region and, having hit the ground running, Yorkshire Payments quickly progressed to employ seven full time staff members within one year.
Through fast growth the business expanded to new offices in September 2014 to their now current Brighouse base. Yorkshire Payments now supports thousands of businesses and the company’s strong customer service has ensured they have grown at a phenomenal rate.
To date Yorkshire Payments now recruit a team of 33 full time employees and forecasts a turnover of £1.7 million in 2016/17.
