Why Truede Products are GM Free

12 May 2014 10:42

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Genetically modified foods are plants or animals that have had genes copied from other plants or animals inserted into their DNA. Typically it means genetically engineering desired traits such as resistance to pesticides and herbicides.

GM foods are, generally speaking, safe for consumption. There have been no major reputable studies that have linked GM foods to any health risks. But, there haven't been too many long term studies about the effect of GM foods that have been considered independent. Certainly not enough to quell the general public's fears about GM foods.

The problem with GM foods isn't limited to health concerns though. Since Clinton's era the US has been blackmailing poor nations into using GMO crops by threat of withholding WTO funds and USAID. The officials doing this came from the top ranks of Monsanto and CropLife, the biggest pesticide lobby.

They also extort American farmers back home, suing them out of existence when wind-borne GM seed invaded their crops, a so-called patent infringement. These large monopolies refuse to make their research public and open to review.

This is why Truede products are GM Free.
