West Norfolk Business is Buzzing

Businesses in West Norfolk are getting a boost from a new networking event. The Swarm Hive Business Network launched in July, with a network event at St Nicholas’ Chapel in the heart of Kings Lynn. Well over twenty businesses attended the first meeting at the stunning venue.

The August event was held at Gaywood Library, where the library staff were available to raise awareness of the business services they supply. That event also highlighted the enterprising approach that Swarm Hive have taken with the events. Swarm Hive’s business manager Harry Harris comments, “Swarm Hive is all about enterprise, innovation and values led business support. There are plenty of really good business networking events in the area, however, they appear to focus on a sales platform template. While there is nothing wrong with this, it is our belief that collaboration leads to innovation, and our mission is to bring business owners, managers, creatives and entrepreneurs together to share ideas, therefore creating something new, while supporting those in the communities they operate in”

The next Swarm Hive networking event perhaps underlines this perfectly, the event is bringing together the Swarm Hive network and a new West Norfolk based social enterprise ‘Bee Innovative’, which is launching its crowdfunder campaign on the night. The event is being held at the Green Britain Centre, Swaffham on Thursday 28th September, 6pm. Bee Innovative founder, Martin Peckitt said “Bee innovative is an education company with a difference, providing sustainably managed beehives to educational facilities and companies who want to learn about how to help the honeybee. They also provide educational courses to help train the beekeepers of the future.” Swarm Hive is bringing together the networking event, Bee Innovatives launch and the Green Britain Centre, hopefully giving a perfect platform for creative ideas.

It seems like a perfect match, said Bee Innovative Director Lee Chapman. “We offer a unique opportunity for anyone to make a difference to the honey bee population and furthermore, we believe that the business community can play a huge role in what we are trying to achieve”

“There is a synergy between communities and the environmental space they occupy. Bee Innovative offers businesses of all sizes a chance to demonstrate their corporate social responsibility, and show that business can be at the leading edge of helping to protect not only our local areas but much wider; our planet.”

The event has already attracted over twenty West Norfolk business owners and managers, it will also be attended by Kings Lynn Mayor Cllr Carol Bower. This is the third event held by Swarm Hive, and there are more events coming soon including; seminars in conjunction with Yours Business Networks, business workshops and further business support.
