Wathen Marine Catering Equipment Services Ltd works in conjunction with the MOD to furnish galleys with specialist equipment such as Bratt Pans and deep fat fryers suitable for large scale catering.
The company, based in Abbey Park Industrial Estate, Romsey, was founded in September of 2015 by Ieuan Wathen and has a work-force of six, five of which are ex-Kempsafe employees. WMCES Ltd’s customer base includes the British Royal Navy and is set to expand per annum due to the expansion of the company; after securing a 5 year lease on a 3140 sq ft building with a much larger work-shop to accommodate the equipment needed to manufacture the equipment we supply and to further current projects. The new branch of the company will be used to assist the work already being done here at WMCES Ltd.
2017 is set to be a fantastic year for WMCES Ltd, we have been fortunate enough to sponsor hoodies for Romsey School on their trip to Kenya to build and teach in schools in the slums of Nakuru. Ieuan Wathen, company director, has said ‘It’s an amazing opportunity for the young people of Romsey to give something to others and experience a totally different way of life. I was really happy to support the trip in any way possible’.
We are also proud to announce that our company has been named as one of the finalists in this year’s Test Valley Business Awards for the New Business of the Year Award, with over 170 entries across six categories this year has been very competitive with numbers far surpassing last year’s records, the standard of entry has been impeccably high and the judges were particularly impressed with what they have read and seen upon visiting the premises of all entrants.
