UNDER EMBARGO UNTIL 16 August 2016 10:00
TunTum Housing in Nottingham has signed a three year contract with Riverlite, the enterprise-grade IT service provider for UK organisations, which sees Riverlite fully manage the Housing Association’s IT infrastructure from 1st September 2016.
TunTum Housing is a non-profit making social business formed to provide housing and support services for people on low incomes in the East Midlands. Based in three office locations across Nottingham, TunTum Housing is one of the region’s fastest growing and most innovative housing associations, with over 1,300 homes in management and development.
With an aged IT infrastructure and the need for a better value service, TunTum started to consider the need for a new supplier to enable it to meet its corporate objective and to operate efficiently and effectively.
As an expert IT Managed Services supplier, Riverlite holds long established partnerships with a large number of Housing Associations to fully manage their IT systems. TunTum were keen to speak to Riverlite after a referral on their proactive approach to IT support. This was further enhanced by the peace of mind that came from not only committing to an expert IT services provider, but one that understood their sector and ethos too.
Speaking about the new IT partnership, Rafik Ghumra, Director of Resources & Risk at TunTum Housing said: “We were immediately impressed with Riverlite’s expertise and know that our entire IT system is in safe hands with their support. Our very name ‘Tuntum’ symbolises people working together and that’s exactly what we are looking forward to doing alongside the Riverlite team.”
Riverlite will replace TunTum’s servers and provide centralised storage – deployed as virtual servers for increased flexibility and high availability; built with rapid expansion capabilities without significant reinvestment. Riverlite’s Sentry system services will also provide security solutions to enhance and protect customer platforms.
Post install, the entire system will be proactively managed and supported by the Riverlite Ensure service; seeing Riverlite’s Network Operations Centre (NOC) proactively lead all common infrastructure management, 24 x 7 x 365. This fully customisable network monitoring system ensures key systems are available and performing at an optimum level, with the ability for every server or network device to be examined individually where needed.
Riverlite’s Managing Director Paul Oggelsby commented: “We are hugely excited about the start of a new relationship with TunTum. The work they do to support people across the East Midlands is very important and we are delighted that our efforts to establish a new IT infrastructure will enable TunTum to continue to deliver their core services – with increased IT productivity and in a highly secure environment.”
The project to update the TunTum IT system will take 8 – 10 weeks to fully deliver, which will see Riverlite’s dedicated project management team onsite to ensure the new infrastructure is up and running quickly and effectively – with very limited downtime for TunTum’s 55 staff.
