Tim Campbell MBE, Winner of the BBC TV Show The Apprentice and Founder of Bright Ideas Trust, Joins the Board of Innovative Blockchain Fintech Start Up “Humaniq”.

Campbell has long been a supporter of social enterprise and an advocate of the transformational impact that business can have on individuals and communities with previous roles championing small business as a member of the British Government’s Entrepreneurs Forum and the UK Cabinet Office’s SME Panel.

Campbell’s appointment to the board of Humaniq will see him work alongside the executive team including the founder Alex Fork, Chairman Dmitry Kaminskiy and CEO Dinis Guarda. Humaniq is a financial inclusion venture using blockchain and biometric technology to enrich the undeveloped world.

Campbell on his appointment said “Humaniq has the real potential to create thousands of entrepreneurs as well as those who are currently unbanked who could be their customers of tomorrow. I have always said that business has the power to bring about social change and Humaniq’s model of bringing financial instruments and education to the 2 billion unbanked people around the world is the manifestation.”

Campbell will lead on identifying new territories where Humaniq can make an impact with a particular focus on Africa. The reason for this focus follows Campbell’s recent participation as an invited guest speaker at the inaugural Enterprise Africa conference held in Accra, Ghana organised by the British Council. During the trip Campbell was introduced to numerous exciting businesses and their owners as well as seeing more disadvantaged areas of Ghana. Seeing how these two extremes coexisted alongside the great work of the British Council providing advice and support and having been inspired by the entrepreneurial nature of many of the Ghanaians, Campbell was prompted to see how he could make an impact in Ghana upon his return to the UK.

Reaching out to his contacts retelling tales of his recent trip he was connected to Humaniq CEO Guarda who offered him the chance to help many of the underserved individuals and fledgling entrepreneurs who were currently unbanked.

Guarda said:

“We welcome Tim and his fantastic passion and energy. Tim is a force of nature and he will be key to help us develop our business development efforts. Tim will be part of our executive team working close to establish a footprint in emerging markets starting in Africa, particularly Ghana.”
