Thriving independent law firm launches in Yorkshire

A specialist employment law firm which focuses on mental health in the workplace has launched in Yorkshire.

Leeds-based solicitor and entrepreneur, Jodie Hill, has launched Thrive Law to support business owners and employees across the region to thrive in the workplace.

Having specialised in employment law, HR and mental health throughout her career, founder and managing director of Thrive Law, Jodie Hill, established the company to utilise her expertise to help businesses with a transparent and jargon-free approach.

With almost a decade’s industry experience, Jodie cross-qualified from barrister to solicitor in 2013. Jodie is also a law lecturer at Leeds Beckett University, as well as a London Expert Law tutor and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health for her work supporting mental health awareness.

Thrive provides HR services, employment law guidance and insurance, health and safety support, as well as guidance and training on mental health in the workplace.

Having formed earlier this year, Thrive Law held its official launch party on Friday 6 July at Issho, Victoria Gate, Leeds which was attended by 60 people.

The company, which is based at Queen Square in Leeds city centre is already working with 50 clients, from small start-ups to large corporates.

Jodie has been nationally recognised for her campaign to make mental health training compulsory in businesses, as well as being nominated for an Inspiring Women Changemakers award.

Founder and managing director of Thrive Law, Jodie Hill commented:

“I set up Thrive to move away from the traditional model of law firms, and instead, create a more collaborative approach to HR and employment law. My prior experience working for MIND, as well as speaking at their events gave me a greater understanding about mental health issues, which is costing UK employers £42 billion. Setting up my own business meant I was able to champion the cause I feel passionately about to change this by setting up a political campaign to make mental health first aiders compulsory in businesses.”

A strong advocate for mental health awareness, Jodie’s campaign has now reached more than 1,000 signatures.
