‘The Salt Path’ Author Attending Inaugural ‘Journeys’ Weekend in Yorkshire

18 May 2018 13:45

‘An uplifting true tale’: that’s how The Salt Path has been described by critics who have been wowed by this tale of walking boots and a life affirming trek of 630-miles along the South West Coast Path.

Author of this best-selling book, Raynor Winn, will attend Journeys in Malton, a summer programme of travel-themed events organised by Ryedale Book Festival.

The festival, which takes place in the market town of Malton, often dubbed Yorkshire’s Food Capital, also includes Migration author, Mike Unwin, along with BBC’s Emma Jane Kirby and Christina Lamb of the Sunday Times, for this inspirational three-day event, from Friday 29th June to Sunday 1st July 2018 (inclusive).

Sarah Tyson, Festival Director: “This eclectic collection of journey-themed events promises to be uplifting and inspirational in equal measure.

“We are delighted to feature a number of respected and best-selling authors, along with events for younger travellers too.

“Malton is a beautiful market town in the heart of Ryedale and in line with the ‘journeys’ theme, is easily accessible by rail or road.”

Other writers who will be sharing their love of travel are set to include Rachel Hore, who penned Last Letter Home, and Adrian Mourby, who has visited some of the finest hotels in the world and is in Malton to describe his experiences.
