THE CLUBHOUSE SECURES £3.5m OF FUNDING FOR EXPANSION TO THE CITY

• New 12,500 sq ft location opening in Angel Court, Bank in October 2017

• Fourth location scheduled for Q1 2018

• 3.5m of new funding takes valuation to £12.5m

• Business club pioneers co-working and flexible meeting through the provision of ‘office space as a service’ for growing SMEs and blue-chip organisations in prime locations

JULY 2017: The Clubhouse, London’s leading business club, meetings and events space, founded by Adam Blaskey in 2012 is gaining momentum rapidly. Having recently secured £3.5m of new funding which values the five-year-old business at an impressive £12.5m, the company is building on the success of its’ locations in Mayfair and St James’s by expanding to The City. This new funding will be used to open two new sites in the City, the first of which will be opening at Angel Court, Bank this October.

Adam Blaskey commented “With two Clubhouses in Mayfair and St James’s and driven by the needs of our members, we have been looking to expand to The City for some time. Our members span start-ups, early stage businesses and growing SMEs through to well-known blue-chip names, all of whom need a flexible and more agile meeting space solution. Now they have a superbly located base at Angel Court in addition to our locations in Mayfair and St James’s”.

The Clubhouse at Angel Court, Bank a stone’s throw from Bank station, The Royal Exchange, the newly opened Coya and The Ned, will no doubt be very popular with both the 350 companies which are members of The Clubhouse today and new members alike. Boasting uninterrupted 360-degree views of the City skyline, members will have also access to a private roof terrace as well as an enviable roof garden for outdoor meetings and events. Home to businesses of all shapes and sizes, from start-ups and growing SMEs to established blue-chip organisations across all industry sectors, on offer is a range of individually designed meeting rooms, hot desks, touch down spaces, lounge areas, dedicated desks, flexible meeting areas, event spaces and conference facilities for up to 70 delegates.

Whilst part of the rapidly expanding co-working sector, The Clubhouse occupies its own niche by filling a gap in the market between serviced offices and co-working spaces at one end and providing an alternative solution for the ever-growing number of entrepreneurs and business people who regularly meet in hotel lobbies and coffee shops at the other. By providing a flexible and more agile alternative to a London office in prime locations, The Clubhouse membership base comprises predominantly growing SMEs and larger corporates rather than early start-ups.

A recent survey by The Clubhouse also reveals that a whopping 60% of its members are above the age of 40 and if they aren’t running their own business are in C-Suite roles. The findings signify that flexible working is no longer exclusive to entrepreneurs and freelancers, but also adopted by senior management and mature businesses alike.

The Clubhouse Founder and CEO, Adam Blaskey, believes that the increase in memberships amongst larger corporates is owed to a change in the way many are now looking at office space: “The Clubhouse is at the forefront of a structural shift in the way many businesses are looking to ‘consume’ office space as a service. Growing SMEs and larger corporates are realizing they can now work more flexibly and reduce costs at the same time whilst still providing a solution for their remote teams. Furthermore, membership of The Clubhouse allows them to recruit and retain the best talent”.

With its sleek, premium interior design, The Clubhouse differs from the traditional bare-bone co-working spaces which have proliferated over recent years. The opulent open-plan flexible meeting and lounge areas and individually designed, high-specification meeting rooms are designed to impress and enhance members’ corporate image, whilst fostering a professional and productive work environment at the same time. The differentiated design along with a dedicated and professional team on hand to attend to members every need has helped The Clubhouse attract organisations including KPMG, Grosvenor, BP, Samsung, Tesla, UBS and Morgan Stanley.

About The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse was founded in 2012 by Adam Blaskey who was frustrated with meeting important clients in uninspiring, unproductive places around London. This ignited the idea to create a better way to do business and to fill the gap between a serviced office and meeting in hotel lobbies or coffee shops.
