THE CLUBHOUSE NEW FLAGSHIP OPEN AT 8 ST. JAMES’S SQUARE

London’s leading business members club has expanded to St. James’s as demand continues to increase for flexible meeting space in central London.

June 2016: The Clubhouse, London’s leading business club and meeting space has opened a new flagship site on St. James’s Square, one of London’s most prestigious garden squares and one of the Capital’s most prominent businesses addresses where it counts Chatham House, Rio Tinto, BP and the In & Out Club as neighbours.

The brand new building at 8 St James’s Square was designed by renowned architect Eric Parry and sits on a site that was once home to Josiah Wedgwood, Founder of Wedgwood Pottery. Interior designed to a high specification, redefining the concept of flexible working and with a stylish members’ club feel, The Clubhouse will occupy a prime 12,760 sq. ft. space, which is over 50% larger than The Clubhouse at 11-14 Grafton Street and double the size of The Clubhouse at 50 Grosvenor Hill in Mayfair.

The new Clubhouse has been designed around the needs of its members and offers a unique, sophisticated and flexible meeting and work space tailored to the needs of today’s entrepreneurs and growing businesses. Home to businesses of all shapes and sizes and across all industry sectors, on offer is a range of individually designed meeting rooms, hot desks, touch down spaces, lounge areas, dedicated desks, flexible meeting areas, a Club café, event spaces and conference facilities for up to 90 delegates. In addition, The Clubhouse has launched its first innovation hub for use by members with a fully interactive video wall in partnership with MultiTaction.

Launched in 2012, The Clubhouse has attracted over 250 companies as members from a broad range of industries and sectors, from technology and media through to consumer, financial services, private equity, and property from across London, the UK and overseas.

Overlooking the beautiful square, and located moments away from the vibrant shops and restaurants of the West End, the new site provides further flexibility for members and another luxurious, professional space in which to work and meet. With complimentary refreshments, high speed and secure Wi-Fi and a range of individually designed meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 90 people, The Clubhouse provides a chic and stylish backdrop to business meetings, events and everyday working.

Adam Blaskey, CEO and Founder, The Clubhouse commented:

“With two Clubhouses in Mayfair currently, we are very excited about our new Clubhouse on St James’s Square which will see us retain our Mayfair base at 50 Grosvenor Hill and has allowed us to increase the products and services we offer to our members as a result of this move to larger space. The Clubhouse is at the forefront of a structural shift in the way many growing businesses are looking to ‘consume’ office space as a service.

The Clubhouse was borne out of my own personal frustrations after years spent meeting clients in coffee shops and hotel lobbies, so I’m thrilled to see that The Clubhouse is fulfilling a very real and growing need among business people today.

At The Clubhouse we have one aim and that is to make our members and their businesses more successful. By moving to St James’s Square and as a result of being able to enhance the range of products and services we now offer, I am looking forward to seeing yet more of our members grow and develop their companies. Supporting businesses to thrive and prosper has always been one of my goals, and I’m thrilled that The Clubhouse has been the launch pad for some great success stories.”

While catering to the growing market of startups and early-stage businesses that operate with no permanent office, The Clubhouse has also attracted many growing SMEs as well as some global organisations such as Samsung, Tesla and Mondelez which are looking for a more flexible way of working in London, in addition to their main premises.

8 St James’s Square is the first of a number of new sites for The Clubhouse as it looks to roll out a network across London over the coming years.
