Subscription boxes transform shopping experience; fast-growing industry now has its own event in the UK

December 17, 2018

London, United Kingdom (UK) - Subscription business models have exploded in almost every industry in recent years, crossing over from business-to-business (B2B) software to consumer services, online retail and even groceries. The subscription box* business model clearly resonates with the modern consumer, and online subscription retail is changing, and will continue to redefine, how consumers discover and consume products.

The UK subscription box market is forecast to grow by 72 per cent by 2022, according to a report commissioned by Royal Mail. The market is forecast to be valued at £1 billion by 2022, compared to £583 million estimated spend in 2017**.

The subscription box market is an increasingly competitive arena, and companies are continuing to evolve their offerings, injecting high personalization into their products to make them relevant, individual and meaningful to consumers.

SUBWEEK, which is taking place on 13 June 2019 at the Royal Overseas League in St James, London, United Kingdom will welcome high-revenue subscription box owners and industry speakers who will share practical insights into the fastest growing retail segment in the UK, whilst examining the new ways innovative companies are serving customers who are demanding new business models to serve them.

SUBWEEK brings together for the first time under one roof, subscription box companies, service providers and investors to learn, celebrate, innovate and shape the future of subscription ecommerce and retail.

SUBWEEK Founder and CEO, Alex Miles, said: “SUBWEEK taps into a highly experienced pool of the best established and fastest growing subscription boxes who are willing to share with their peers and the community on what’s working in their business today to help them grow their businesses faster."

“We are very excited to be announcing the first event of its kind to bring the subscription industry together for the first time,” said Miles.

“Our mission is to help subscription businesses get practical advice on how they can grow their businesses faster and to maximise shared value from subscription relationships for consumers and the wider community,” said Miles.

The first-ever dedicated Subscription Industry Awards to recognise the top performing and most innovative subscription commerce and retail businesses will be part of the inaugural SUBWEEK event being held at the Royal Overseas League, St James in June.

About SUBWEEK

SUBWEEK is the first and only event in the UK and Europe that brings together under one roof, subscription box companies, service providers, and investors to learn, celebrate, innovate and shape the future of subscription e-commerce and retail. Our mission is to inspire individuals, businesses, and the wider community to maximise shared value from subscription relationships. Over the past 10 years, the subscription model has crossed over from business-to-business (B2B) software to consumer services, online retail and even groceries. It has become the de facto business model for a multitude of products and services. Subscriptions are an increasingly common way to buy products and services online. UK consumers are embracing subscription brands, with strong traction including everything from recipe food kits, to shaving gear and self-care.
