Startup Funding Club holds its last Investor Event before closing this year’s SEIS/EIS Fund

London, UK, 20th March – Startup Funding Club (SFC), the UK’s most active network of Business Angels and seed investment fund, has held its latest pitching and networking event at Mayfair’s Home House. This event is part of the firm’s monthly series of Investor Events, which typically showcases pitches by five promising startups eligible for SEIS/EIS – (Seed) Enterprise Investment Scheme – every month.

On Monday evening, investors looking for new opportunities to support innovative UK-based startups were present at the award-winning members club. Stephen Page, SFC’s CEO, acted as master of ceremonies and welcomed the crowd to the venue. Page was also in charge of introducing his company and the sponsors of the evening – Stackhouse Poland and SFC Bennett Brooks.

Following this, SFC’s Investment Manager, Joseph Zipfel, reminded the audience about the different ways in which they can invest through Startup Funding Club – Angel Investment and Fund Investment – and the tax benefits that can be obtained by investing through SEIS/EIS. Zipfel also announced that the current Startup Funding Club SEIS/EIS Fund will be closing in early April and that any SEIS/EIS investments made before the deadline can claim the applicable tax relief for this tax year.

Afterwards, five high growth companies from different sectors showcased their business models and potential to the crowd. The startups were well-received and enjoyed plenty of attention from investors during the Q&A session and during the drinks and canapé reception, where both parties had the opportunity to get to know each other better and got into further detail about the businesses presented.
