Stagecoach Performing Arts set to celebrate the big 3-0 in style

2018 is set to be an exciting year for Stagecoach Performing Arts, as the entire franchise network comes together to celebrate 30 years in (show) business, having initially launched in the UK in 1988.

Such a momentous anniversary deserves a fitting celebration and so, on 1st July 2018, students up and down the country will be embarking on an impressive collaborative performance of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Junior. In keeping with the tone of the upcoming proceedings, Monday 4th December marked the digital launch of the Stagecoach 30th Anniversary badge.

Nationwide, around 40,000 students enjoy Stagecoach classes on a weekly basis. Over 6,500 students are expected to take part in the Guinness World Record for the most children to ever take part in a simultaneous performance of this magical Disney production. This one-off event has been orchestrated entirely by the Stagecoach events team, who secured exclusive rights to the junior production.

“It’s testament to our incredible network of franchisees that Stagecoach Performing Arts is as successful as ever, 30 years on. We’re currently operating across nine countries, with a network of more than 300 franchisees operating over 680 schools. As a network, we are constantly expanding and the opportunity to come together to celebrate is truly special,” says Sarah Kelly, CEO at Stagecoach.

Should the 150 UK Stagecoach schools taking part succeed in their task of the most simultaneous performances of the same show, they will beat the previous record set by themselves in 2008, when celebrating their 20th anniversary with a collaborative performance of ‘Glad Rags’, a musical penned and performed by Stagecoach Performing Arts.
