Stagecoach Performing Arts celebrate 30th year with founder

On Monday 9th April – 30 years on from the day that the very first ever Stagecoach Performing Arts school was founded – the network came together to celebrate this momentous achievement. Sarah Kelly, CEO of the UK’s leading performing arts franchise, was joined by the entire head office team, franchisees, students and even the founder from 1988, Stephanie Manuel, at the headquarters in Walton-on-Thames.

With an afternoon full of fun, which included a Stagecoach quiz, an afternoon tea and an impressive 30th birthday cake, this was an opportunity for the entire network to recognise the tremendous journey made by this performing arts franchise. What started out as three small stage schools in Redhill, Woking and Richmond upon Thames in the spring of 1988 has expanded to become one of the most recognised performing arts opportunities, for students and business owners alike. Today, a network of more than 300 franchisees operate over 700 schools in nine countries.

On the day, students from Stagecoach Chertsey entertained guests with an original Alice in Wonderland and Taylor Swift mashup performance, whilst Stagecoach Weybridge performed a repertoire of ABBA hits. This afternoon of celebrations was brought to a close by a congratulatory speech and a message of gratitude from CEO, Sarah Kelly.

Andy Knights, Chief Operating Officer of Stagecoach Performing Arts, feels proud to be part of a rapidly growing franchise network and is looking forward to celebrating the momentous year ahead:

“Working with such a diverse and passionate network is a highlight of my role at Stagecoach and it’s great to see the franchisees coming together to celebrate this landmark year. With all of the incredible events planned in celebration of our 30th anniversary, the birthday party was a great way to get together – with faces old and new – and kick off what promises to be a fun-filled year of growth and opportunity.”

We delight in seeing our students have fun, make friends, learn new skills and discover hidden talents. We encourage them to take ‘safe risks’ through rehearsals and performance, which brings out a willingness to take on new challenges. None of us know what the future holds, which is why it’s so important for today’s children to be resilient, brave and self-assured. Furthermore you can rest assured that your child is in safe hands as we adhere to the strictest child safety policies.
