FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
According to SalesGossip, a website and mobile app where shoppers can find all the best fashion and beauty sales online and on the high street, Black Friday kicked off the pre-Christmas sales this year and it hasn’t stopped since. There are some great bargains to be had right now, but SalesGossip is also urging shoppers to look out from the 21st of December when they forecast many retailers will start their pre-Boxing Day sales.
Savvy shoppers picked up great deals over the extended Black Friday weekend with SalesGossip reporting over double (137% increase) the number of retailers with Black Friday offers than the previous year. Since then, the promotions have continued but at a lower rate than the Black Friday bonanza. So far this month, SalesGossip reports a 48% increase in the number of shops having promotions as compared to the same period last year.
Some clever retailers, from the 479 shops with live promotions on the SalesGossip website and mobile app, have planned engaging campaigns to target those still looking for pre-Christmas bargains. Using advent-style calendars and the 12 days of Christmas theme, these retailers are offering a different deal or discounts on specific product categories for one day only in the run up to Christmas. This is flash sales at their best and the good news for shoppers is that these flash sales are usually on Christmas gifts or new season stock.
With its insider industry knowledge, SalesGossip is forecasting that many retailers will start their pre-boxing day sales as early as Sunday 21st of December. Even the last-minute shoppers could unwittingly grab bargains this year.
Elizabetta Camilleri, CEO and Co-founder and SalesGossip, says, “Black Friday was a phenomenon this year with more retailers than ever getting involved. While we expect most retailers to go big with their sales on Boxing Day itself, our insider knowledge suggests that many retailers will start their promotions from Sunday this weekend. This is great for shoppers who’ve left it a little bit late to pick up their gifts.”
Elizabetta continued, “Most of the early promotions will be from high street brands. Those looking for luxury might have to wait for Boxing Day itself to bag a bargain from the brand directly but there are a few preview sales on right now where shoppers can pick up great designer labels.”
SalesGossip predicts there will be as many as 900 sales on their site and mobile app on Boxing Day.
