Rovio and Room to Read form partnership to provide quality education

London, England – 18th September 2014 - Rovio, the leading publisher of the multi-award winning franchise Angry Birds today announces its partnership with Room to Read to help support their ongoing efforts to develop literacy skills and provide quality education to children.

Starting on the 15th September, fans of the hit game Angry Birds Epic on iOS, Android and Windows phone will be able to purchase a special ‘Good Deeds’ coin bundle from the in-game store and part of the proceeds will go towards supporting Room to Read. The campaign will last for two weeks 15th – 29th September and all the money raised will be used to provide children in Asia and Africa with educational opportunities and support the development of key literacy skills and a habit of reading. These include providing quality reading materials, establishing learning spaces, providing teacher training and support, and building community and government partnerships.

Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, the organzation develops literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children and ensures girls have the skills and support needed to complete their secondary education.
