Rough diamond to support rough sleepers at charity’s corporate gala dinner
A West Yorkshire-based homelessness charity is hosting its third annual ball next month.
Local businesses are invited to attend Simon on the Streets’ event, dubbed the Rough Diamond Ball, at The Queen’s Hotel in Leeds on Friday 19 May 2017.
The event will include a glittering gala dinner with wine, sponsored by Brighouse-based Yorkshire Payments and will also include live music, dancing, and the opportunity to win a genuine ‘rough cut’ diamond.
Founded in 1999, Simon on the Streets is an independent charity, working with local people who are affected by homelessness and rough sleeping. The organisation offers street-support to individuals who have complex needs and cannot access mainstream services, due to behavioural issues or mental illness.
As part of this year’s raffle, one lucky entrant will be presented with a genuine ‘rough cut’ diamond, donated by Bingley-based Iain Henderson Designs, an independent, Yorkshire jeweler.
Tickets for the event, which include a red carpet arrival, sparkling wine reception, private bar, silent auction and three course meal, are £60 each or £600 for a table of ten.

We look forward to welcoming a variety of different businesses from across the region, to celebrate the charity’s achievements, network and raise the necessary funds to ensure we can continue to deliver our invaluable services. The rate of homelessness in city centres is still disturbingly high and as such, the services we provide are key in tackling the problem. Unfortunately, we do not receive any public funding and so we rely on the kind support of businesses and other fundraising initiatives to operate.”
