PaySend crowned ‘best cards initiative’ at the PayTech Awards
Payments disruptor PaySend has been crowned as the best cards initiative at this year’s PayTech awards.
The firm won the award because of their most recent product, the Global Account and the unique features that accompany it.
Ronald Millar, CEO of PaySend, said: “We are delighted to win this prestigious award, which is an industry recognition of our continuous effort to bring innovative FinTech products to the global market. We will build on this success by investing in new products and introducing the Global Account to more countries around the world.”
The Global Account provides the ability to hold, move and spend traditional and cryptocurrencies from the same payment wallet, allowing users to pay with multiple fiat currencies, and initially with bitcoin, with more cryptocurrencies to be added over time too.
“With the Global Account a single card, whether that be physical or virtual, can be used to spend the balance in any currency simply by selecting a currency in the app. For example, in a matter of seconds consumers are able to pay for their sandwich in pounds and their newspaper in bitcoin,” said Ronald.
Other features of the new Global Account include the ability to save on currency exchange rates and being able to pay securely online by using prepaid and virtual cards while travelling or transacting in multiple currencies.
Ronald added: “Be it a card, a bank account or a crypto wallet consumers are looking for the universal solution to pay and move their funds in a secure and simple way. If you want to pay for your latte with pounds, dollars or bitcoin you should be able to do so – and we take care of the complex financial processing seamlessly in the background.”
Transfers between Global Account holders are free of charge and the customers can also withdraw cash at millions of ATMs worldwide with a PaySend prepaid card.
The award comes in the wake of the business’s recent funding close of $20 million, which will be invested in an array of new and exciting products.
PaySend’s rapidly growing business now operates in more than 60 countries with new countries being added every month.
