OVER 35,000 VOTE FOR THEIR FAVOURITE CHARITY VIDEO IN THE CHARITY FILM AWARDS

Over 35,000 members of the public have voted for their favourite charity video in the Charity Film Awards, the only awards dedicated to recognising the effective use of video by charities, the results of which will decide the finalists for the Awards.

The Awards has received entries from 382 charities from across the sector, including Age UK, Marie Curie, Oxfam, RSPCA and SportsAid. The entries are split into six categories, five based on the turnover of the charity and one for documentaries, with all the entries featuring on the Charity Film Awards website.

The public voting stage has one week left, ending on 30 November, after which the finalists will be announced in December. An expert panel of judges will then review the films for their quality, content and effectiveness to then determine the winners of each category. The judging panel includes:

- Lord Herman Ouseley, member of the House of Lords

- Tom Riordan, Chief Executive, Leeds City Council

- Patrick Crawford, CEO, Charity Bank

- Baroness Kate Parminter, member of the House of Lords

- Louise Ridley, journalist, BuzzFeed UK

- Matthew Taylor, CEO, Royal Society of Arts

The Charity Film Awards ceremony will take place in March at BAFTA.

Simon Burton, Co-Founder of the Charity Film Awards, said; “We’ve had a phenomenal response to the Charity Film Awards from both the public and the charities themselves. The films, whether created to change perceptions, raise awareness or fundraise, are being recognised for their success as a marketing tool. There is still time for the public to vote to ensure that their favourite charities get recognised for their work.”

Fans and supporters have taken to social media to encourage further votes for their favourite charity, including British model, ambassador and star of Achievement for All charity film, David Gandy, who tweeted for his fans to vote for their video.

With one week left, there is still time to make a difference to the finalists. Vote for your favourite charity film now at www.CharityFilmAwards.com
