New year, new business start-up in West Kent: Andy starts a second business rather than retire

04 January 2017 12:02

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

There are over 3.5 million UK businesses currently registered with Companies House. In West Kent alone, there were over 2,000 business start-ups in 2016 and over 600,000 start-ups across the UK in last year. But did you know that at any one time, more than 10% of all companies are up for sale?

Andy Myers has run his accountancy firm in Tonbridge for the past 13 years and he’s become the latest start-up in West Kent, ready to help people wanting to sell or buy a business. Andy, who lives in Horsmonden near Tunbridge Wells, explains why he felt the need to start a new business when he could easily retire, sit back and enjoy life.

“I’m one of those people who just can’t sit still. I love fresh challenges and I really enjoy working within West Kent’s business community. I’ve bought and sold a few businesses over the years and, dare I say it, I enjoyed it more than tax calculations!

“One thing that struck me about those business sales was the varying quality of support through the process and the shocking difference in fees applied by the business brokers. At Transworld Business Advisors, my new business brokerage company, I won’t be charging any up-front fees and fees will only be charged if a business sale is completed.

“I want to build a successful business like my accountancy firm and I can only do that by providing the best business brokerage service in the area. if you’re thinking of retiring, looking for a change of career or want to release some money from one of your businesses to help you get more out of life, I have free guides to help you consider what’s involved.”

The two free guides have top tips on getting your business ready to sell and the important steps to buying a business which are available by emailing Andy amyers@tworld.com or calling 01732 366077.
