New SalesGossip mobile app saves fashion shoppers on the high street

Check-in for exclusive promotions and play fashion-tinder to customise the SalesGossip app

08 OCTOBER 2014, LONDON, UK: SalesGossip is the first online and mobile service that aggregates all the fashion and beauty promotions online and on the high street. The launch of the iOS mobile app, downloadable now from the App Store, is in direct response to the needs of SalesGossip’s current membership of over half a million shoppers. With 58% of traffic regularly coming from mobile devices (38% from mobile phones and 20% from tablets), SalesGossip knew the next logical step was to give the public what they wanted; a much richer shopping experience on their mobiles.

The new SalesGossip mobile app is the secret weapon to become an expert shopper. Find promotions on the go, find out who stocks the product category you’re looking for, get directions and check-in for exclusive in-store promotions.

What’s the SalesGossip app great at? Here’s the features and functions:

Find promotions by brand: Type in a brand you like, we’ll tell you if there’s a promotion on. If there isn’t, the SalesGossip app will suggest another retailer carrying that brand, or other promotions from different brands we think you’ll like. You can also add those brands to your watchlist so you’ll get alerted for their next promotions.

Check-in for exclusive promotions: Hit the check-in button when you’re in-store to get exclusive promotions. It could be a 10% discount, a free personal stylist session, a free coffee in a department store café, or a timed exclusive promotion for double loyalty points.

Play fashion-tinder: Just like the original, the SalesGossip mobile app lets you swipe to see more of what you like and less of what you don’t. Harsh, maybe, but personalisation is what SalesGossip is all about. Swipe left to like, right to dislike, and up if you don’t care; the brands and promotions you see in future will be tailored to your preferences.

Find sales by location and get directions: Tell the app where you are, et voila, a list of promotions appear alongside the distance you are from each of them. Once you’ve found the sale you’re looking for, the app will give you directions straight to it either by foot or by car. It will even estimate how long it will take you to get there.

Search by product category: Know what you need but not a clue where to get it from. Use the filter to find promotions by product category and price range – for example ‘women shoes’ + ‘high street’ or ‘men suits’ + ‘luxury’.

Elizabetta Camilleri, Co-founder and CEO of SalesGossip says, “Developing and launching our app was the natural next step for SalesGossip. People are still shopping on the high street. Our new app gives them access to all the promotions while they’re pounding the pavements. Shoppers don’t have to plan in advance or visit various different retailers’ websites before a shopping expedition; the app can tell them everything they need to know on the move.

Camilleri continued, “Retail therapy is different for everyone and we wanted the SalesGossip app to reflect this. Personalisation is key to our whole service so we wanted a way to make the app personal for every user; that’s where fashion-tinder comes in.
