Black British Entertainment aims to further cement its place as one of the United Kingdom’s leading network by launching their inaugural Black British Entertainment Awards on Saturday, 16th December 2017 at the lavish Porchester Hall, located at 45 Porchester Road, Bayswater, London W2 5HS.

The Black British Entertainment Awards, with the motto ‘celebrating the true definition of black excellence,’ will showcase an array of creative talent across all areas of entertainment, including comedy, fashion, film, music, spoken word, and dance. Honours will also be given to Young Achievers, children who have impacted the entertainment industry on both a national and international level. Shortlisted nominees include Tinie Tempah, Michael Dapaah, and Joshua Beckford.

“Celebrating British talent is something that we delight in as a culture,” said Jean Gasho, BBE co-founder and contributor to Huffington Post UK. “We aim to empower, celebrate black talent and we believe in creating a platform which enhances the black talent’s fullest potential through events and features for the betterment of Great Britain.”

“Our aim is simple: we are focused on shining a light on amazing talent within the UK,” she added. “In 2017 we have seen the visible renaissance of cultural and social celebration, and we want to provide an accolade that over the decades will become synonymous with quality, skillful and excellent entertainment.”
