Manchester Innovation firm grows in the Europe Union

This month, the directors of Manchester innovation engineers Axelisys opened a new European company in a bid to break into European and Canadian markets and safeguard the roles of European workers post-Brexit.

Founder and managing director of Axelisys, Ethar Alali, explains.

’I started Axelisys after the financial crisis. Seeing the devastation that caused to small business and workers, I made a conscious design to design the company to cope with economic shocks. Our unique structure has also allowed us to access talent from across the globe, without having a dependency to any one geography. Plus, the whole company can scale itself up and down by demand. Our unique approach to work means we are well placed to weather effects that otherwise cripples other businesses.’

The new company, Axelisys OÜ, began trading exactly 8 years after Axelisys first formed. It maintains access to the European market, tenders for EU member states and work accessible through 3rd country trade agreements such as CETA and JFTA. Making it easy for Axelisys to export and sell into other markets that become harder after the UK leaves the European union.

‘Axelisys is well placed to take advantage of the Caqnadian and European market and maintains access to FinTech clients on the continent. Axelisys OÜ trades in Euros, increasing our access to European projects and most crucially, keeps EU workers and it's even easier for everyone to work!’

Fully ratified in 2017, CETA created the world’s most progressive Free Trade Agreement. This year, the EU signed an Economic Partnership agreement with Japan, letting EU companies become a direct participant in one third of the entire world’s trade.

But what about Brexit? While Ethar is adamant leaving the EU will be extremely bad for Britain, he is not worried about the affects on the Axelisys group. He says the one-time party of business has neglected their core base in an attempt to chase ideology at all costs. Yet, he also states Axelisys’ parallel structure has substantial positives which are a win-win in every scenario.

‘This new split structure not only allows Axelisys to safeguard work. In the unlikely event the UK remains in the EU, whether by rescinding notice or through something like a PeoplesVote, Axelisys then simply has an international base. Something we planned for the next 10 years anyway. As a result, opening Axelisys in the EU was a clear no brainer’

While the future looks rocky, it’s clear there are still opportunities to chase in Europe and beyond. Axelisys seems well placed to surf the tsunami and is very sure of its future footing.
