Maiden Voyage and Carey International join forces to safeguard female travellers

Female travel safety company Maiden Voyage has announced Carey International as its preferred ground transportation provider.

Maiden Voyage CEO and Founder Carolyn Pearson explained how much the partnership will mean to women travellers. ‘With 55% of women telling us that they have at some point felt nervous when taking a cab when travelling on business, we recognise that ground transportation is one of the biggest contributors to travel related stress. Add to that the fact that the ground transfers are often the riskiest part of any trip, particularly where road traffic accidents are concerned, it’s imperative that organisations don’t put their travellers in unnecessary danger. We’ve been looking for the right ground transportation partner for quite some time, and Carey International really impressed us with the lengths they go to in order to ensure the safety of their passengers. I’ve used the service myself and feel really satisfied that our members are going to be well looked after.’

Rachelle Piper, Director of Sales EMEA at Carey, also celebrated the new partnership, and emphasised the many benefits for female travellers. ‘We believe that Carey is a perfect fit for Maiden Voyage members. Our focus on safety and security offers a unique level of peace of mind for female travellers, their employers and travel agents. Carey's Global Network is fully vetted with a minimum 6 months and average 9 month process before our partners are confirmed. Our thorough checks into all aspects of our global operations ensure you get the safest possible service from a chauffeur known to Carey who has undergone stringent background checks. We are very excited about our relationship with Maiden Voyage and look forward to working with the team there to further enhance our service for female travellers.’

Specifically with their female passengers in mind, Carey offers the option of a 'password', to ensure that you have been met by the assigned Carey chauffeur. Carey also guarantees English speaking chauffeurs throughout the Carey Network.

Further key safety features implemented by Carey include: a single Carey provider in each city to ensure consistent service, safety and security levels to meet both Carey and Maiden Voyage standards; $20,000,000 additional insurance cover for all Carey travellers; centralised reservations, ensuring in emergencies that travellers are locatable and able to receive assistance; and vehicles less than 3 years old and fully maintained to manufacturer specification.
