The Franchise Show

Light version of sign franchise to launch at The Franchise Show

30 January 2017 16:07

An idea that was born over a coffee meeting at The Franchise Show last year is to be officially launched this year by Signarama on stand 620.

At less than half the cost of a full Signarama franchise, the Light option offers all of the benefits of the world leading Signarama brand without the outlay of production facilities. The value for money entry level opportunity allows owners to test out the market with the option to expand into the full production franchise as the business flourishes.

The UK Master Licence for Signarama was acquired by Aliyyah-Begum Nasser in 2015. As part of her research prior to the re-launch of the brand she attended The Franchise Show in 2016 to meet with the team from the United Franchise Group (UFG). Signarama is a member of this group and the delegation had a deep understanding of the brand and its markets.

Explained Aliyyah-Begum Nasser: “Coming from a business and change management consultancy background myself, I know how important it is to carry out thorough research before embarking on any new business venture. When I learned that the UFG team was coming over to attend the show, it gave us the ideal opportunity to meet up, talk through my plans and for them to share with me their huge wealth of knowledge and experience in the franchise industry.

“It became clear that being able to offer choice and flexibility to prospective franchisees could significantly add value to our proposition. The Light option offers a lower cost entry to the brand with the opportunity for future expansion as the business expands and UFG helped me to develop this concept for the UK.”

Signarama is the largest sign consultancy in the world with 900 centres in over 50 countries. The brand is well established in the UK and enjoys an excellent reputation for delivering a quality product and outstanding customer service with over 70% of the centres’ turnover coming from repeat business.

Mrs Nasser continued: “The Light showroom is fully fitted out just like all of our other sign centres but without the production equipment. The footprint required is smaller and therefore has lower associated rental and business rates costs. Production is outsourced to another Signarama centre or top quality local supplier.

“The Light franchise package is the ideal way for franchisees to dip a toe into the sign market and gives them the option to invest in a full Signarama production franchise as their business grows. It is also a viable proposition for premises-based retailers who are looking for a new challenge or for complimentary businesses wishing to add a sign service to their offer.”

Signarama’s proven business model delivers high profit growth potential backed up by exceptional ongoing business support.

Full training is given at Signarama headquarters in Florida and, from the moment a new owner joins the network, the Signarama UK based business support team will be there every step of the way. From helping to prepare a business plan, raising the finance, finding the ideal premises to setting up and running the centre there will be a Signarama expert to assist.
