Leeds-based vehicle-hire firm appoints new manager
Yorkshire’s largest independently owned vehicle-hire firm Arrow Self Drive, has recruited a new manager to support business growth and development.
Russell Taylor joins the business as sales and rental manager at the Leeds depot, which recently changed to larger premises to accommodate an increase in demand of the hire of company vehicles.
The new space at Gelderd Road, Leeds is five times bigger than the previous site on Marshall Street, Leeds.
Having undertaken senior roles in the vehicle-hire sector for the last twenty-two years at GE Capital, Northgate PLC and Burntree Enterprise, Russell has a wealth of industry knowledge to offer the family-run firm.
Founded in 1998 by business partners Chris Taylor and Robert Hill, Arrow Self Drive initially began selling commercial vehicles to local businesses from a garage in Huddersfield.
The company has since grown to become the region’s largest independently owned car, van, minibus and truck rental company with eight depots based across Yorkshire.
Commenting on his new role, Russell Taylor said:
“I am so pleased to have joined a local family-run business firmly embedded in the local community. My aim is to make the Leeds depot Arrow Self Drive’s largest depot in terms of clients and we have strategies in place to make this happen.
“Having worked in the industry for the last twenty-two years, I believe that I will be able to bring valuable experience to the team and assist in the growth of the company, mainly focussing on targeting retail and B2B clients in the area.”
Arrow Self Drive’s managing director, James Hill said:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Russell Taylor on board and I’m confident his knowledge and expertise will add significant value to the growing team. He has demonstrated that he has the skills to help develop the business in the retail and B2B sector so we’re excited to see him take ownership of his new role”.
