Leeds-based cocktail firm shortlisted for two entrepreneur awards

A Leeds-based national business has successfully been nominated for two entrepreneurial awards following the success of the company and its founder.

Zest Mixology has been supported by the NatWest funded Entrepreneurial Spark programme in Leeds over the past six months.

Entrepreneurial Spark, the largest business accelerator programme in the world, offers start-up and scale-up businesses a range of support including office facilities, mentors, events and business advice.

Zest Mixology has recently celebrated its fifth year in business, has served over 1 million guests and is set to turn over £650,000 this year. The latest recognition of achievement comes in being shortlisted for two categories in the Entrepreneurial Spark ‘Entrepreneuring Awards’ to be announced Wednesday 20 July 2016.

Following a successful and confident pitch by founder Murdo MacLeod, Zest Mixology has been nominated by fellow businesses on the Entrepreneurial Spark programme, along with seven other business owners to win a cash prize of £1,000.

In addition to the pitching award, Zest Mixology has been nominated for a second award which recognises the proactive business owners, entitled the GoDo award. This award is specific to the individual business owners who have made substantial efforts to constantly develop and expand their business and are indeed GoDo’ers.

Murdo is up against PR founder, Ellie MacDonald from MacComms, Emily of Bow Baskets and winner of the Yorkshire Entrepreneur award and three of the six entrepreneurs shortlisted will win a £3,000 prize.

The recognition for Zest Mixology extends further as founder Murdo successfully secured his place on the E-Spark ‘nesting’ programme which will see him on the programme for another six months to further grow his business.
