Leading vocal coaches David & Carrie Grant join Stagecoach for global conference

First global conference for Stagecoach Performing Arts

With this year marking the 30th anniversary since the launch of Stagecoach Performing Arts Schools, the international franchise network has come together to celebrate and educate. The event attended by franchisees from around the world broke records with 198 franchisees joining the two-day conference in Stratford-upon-Avon.

In July, the franchise is set to hit another record, running over 1,800 classes operating worldwide with 46,000 students enjoying sessions each week, increasing due to the new franchisees joining the network and growth in existing franchises. Many of these students will be taking part in their World Record attempt on 1st July

The last day of conference welcomed David and Carrie Grant as keynote speakers. As well as being amongst the foremost vocal coaches in the UK, Carrie and David have also coached senior business managers for the past 17 years. Interactively using the medium of music, they have trained, amongst many others, The Foreign Office, Shell, TESCO, Costa, Whitbread, The NHS, Express Newspapers, and now the global network of franchisees at Stagecoach Performing Arts and their support team!

Recognition was given to franchisees who had been running their Stagecoach franchises for 10 and 20 years including four who had been serving their communities for over 25 years. Then the Franchisee of the Year Awards were given out which were for both International, won by Valeska Malcherowitz of Stagecoach Frankfurt North, and UK, won by Caroline Maxwell from Stagecoach Colchester. These awards are based on quality of service, growth and performance.

The global franchise conference was followed by a day of development for the dedicated team of Stagecoach teachers. Joined once again by David and Carrie Grant, TEACHERFEST had a star-studded line-up of arts educators including professional dancer and TV star Kristina Rihanoff, internationally-renowned theatre company Frantic Assembly, author of music and performance teaching guides Dr Alison Daubney, international choreographer Ryan Jenkins and actor Ben Goddard. These colourful and interactive workshops are just another reason why their teaching provision is considered second-to-none and why parents and students choose Stagecoach.

David Grant summed up the impact Stagecoach franchisees can make, “We’d obviously heard of Stagecoach before but having spent time with the franchisees, we were completely unaware of the high-level training and professional development they undertake in order to be a great creative force locally. We also love the fact that everyone is welcome. It’s not just for showbiz, it’s for life.”

“Our dream has always been to create a great business with a nurturing and thriving community. Our collective passion to unlock the potential in children through the performing arts, allows us all to enrich each other’s lives and be proud to say that we’ve had a role to play in developing Creative Courage for Life,” says Stagecoach CEO, Sarah Kelly.

About Stagecoach Performing Arts

About Stagecoach Performing Arts: Over the years we have seen more than one million students unlock their potential, which is something they will value for their whole life. At Stagecoach we teach our students so much more than how to sing, dance and act. We help them blossom into well-rounded individuals, ready to embrace life and all its opportunities. With nearly 30 years’ experience in teaching the performing arts, we understand how to get the best out of our young performers. We delight in seeing our students have fun, make friends, learn new skills and discover hidden talents. We encourage them to take ‘safe risks’ through rehearsals and performance, which brings out a willingness to take on new challenges. None of us know what the future holds, which is why it’s so important for today’s children to be resilient, brave and self-assured. Furthermore you can rest assured that your child is in safe hands as we adhere to the strictest child safety policies. About joining Stagecoach as a franchisee: With our 30th birthday in 2018, the Stagecoach model has been proven and refined to become one of the UK’s leading performing arts opportunities. Franchisees build a team of equally passionate and enthusiastic teachers, qualified to bring out the very best in their students. Stagecoach schools provide a thriving, nurturing and supportive environment for creative learning. That’s just one of the reasons why 40,000 children every week flock to classes nationwide. Today, a network of more than 300 franchisees operate over 680 schools offering 1,780 classes in eight countries. Through an exciting and varied framework of teaching and development, franchisees have helped to unlock the potential of more than one million students since it opened in 1988.
