IT security expert for UK SMEs to exhibit at flagship event, featuring Cisco OpenDNS product demonstrations as part of a strong IT security offering

IT Managed Services company Riverlite, based in Cambridgeshire, has today announced details of its activity at the UK Security Expo taking place at London Olympia on 30 Nov - 1 Dec 2016.

The UK Security Expo 2016 is described as the UK's flagship event for a global end-user security audience, with 8,000 delegates expected during the two days. Riverlite will be exhibiting jointly with Cisco and OpenDNS at the event, in recognition of its unique partnership with the IT network manufacturer.

Riverlite will be joined at the event by Paolo Passeri, a seasoned Security Professional with more than 15 years of experience in the security arena. He is currently a Consulting Systems Engineer for OpenDNS, part of Cisco, in a role that sees him in the pursuit of securing the world’s internet users by connecting the dots to reveal malicious infrastructures all over the Internet, detecting and preventing advanced threats. Paolo will be running OpenDNS demos at the Riverlite stand throughout the event and will also be presenting a demonstration piece entitled Sophisticated layer of defence for your business - OpenDNS as part of Riverlite Sentry security suite’. The presentation takes place from 1.40 – 2pm on Thursday 1st December in the Technology and Live Response Theatre.

Cisco OpenDNS will be showcased at the Riverlite stand (N55) along with the Riverlite Security service “Sentry”; providing advanced threat protection for any device, anywhere, anytime. Now part of Riverlite’s Sentry Service, OpenDNS prevents attacks earlier in the chain and enforces security at the DNS layer - preventing malicious IP connections from being established or malicious files from ever being downloaded.

Speaking about the importance of a strong security package, Riverlite Managing Director Paul Oggelsby said: “Businesses know how damaging a cyber-attack can be and time and money is continually invested to detect and defend against malware. However, without OpenDNS, malicious malware reaches the perimeter or endpoint before you can detect or prevent it. We are proud to be an UK OpenDNS partner - offering a powerful addition to our Sentry Security solution to SMEs across the country.”

Riverlite’s investment in the UK Security Expo comes on the back of its Cisco Premier Partner status announcement last month, which reflects Riverlite’s excellent product knowledge; rewarded by the world’s leading IT network manufacturer.

OpenDNS is part of the Cisco umbrella, a technology purchased by Cisco in August 2016 for which Riverlite is a key UK partner. Riverlite’s continuing partnership with Cisco offers access to the world’s leading network manufacturer, with the delivery of their latest innovative products directly from the expert Riverlite team.
