It makes GoodSense to train for jobs
A Leeds-based training firm has secured jobs for 14 unemployed people under their Level 2 door supervisor training programme.
GoodSense Training’s subsidiary, which specialises in accredited training including BTEC for door supervisor, handcuffing and HSE first aid, partnered up with North East-based Involved Learning to help unemployed people receiving benefits to train for a job as a security guard.
Alex Good, who heads up the subsidiary at GoodSense Training, organised the accredited training courses which are funded by Interserve. They have been delivered over two weeks in Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and Stoke to 27 people since February has seen 14 successful candidates offered jobs following the training.
Chris Chimiczewski who attended the course commented:
“I have been unemployed for a number years. I heard about the funded course and wanting to turn my life around, I thought that was definitely something I could do. The training was great, really interactive over the four days and I can’t wait to start my job to put what I have learnt into practice.”
Alex Good added:
“It has been rewarding to be part of the success in training people up under GoodSense training and to see more than 50% go on to receive job offers already is a great achievement.”
GoodSense Training was formed by Darren Good in 2004 and delivers a variety of personal safety and conflict resolution training to a range of public and private sector businesses nationally. Darren’s son Alex joined the business in 2015 and has taken a lead on driving the accredited training to individuals and companies over the past 18 months.
