International Women's Day attracting a crowd in Essex
In Poland International Women's day on 8th March is bigger than Mother's Day or Valentine's day. Little boys and even policemen will hand out carnations to women! In other countries, this is a national holiday for women!
Leigh-on-sea in Essex is embracing International Women's day for the second time when on 8th March, Essex women from many countries gather to celebrate and enjoy a day of sharing stories, dancing, art and craft from International Women's Day in other lands.
Last year's celebration attracted women from over 20 countries and the women experienced food from 12 countries including India, Italy, Zambia, Nigeria and Thailand.
This year's theme is #BeBoldForChange and here's a link to the UK website if you would like to know more.
