FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jollof Mama is a family business based in West London which provides a mobile catering service with a unique brand of Nigerian street cuisine, borrowing from the wider West African food tradition. Owner Tieyan is a British-born Nigerian who is keen to bring her culture's food to a new audience, which she has found in her West London home as well as in the surrounding districts.
But it's Tieyan's supply of exceptional food to housing associations and the local football club that has endeared Jollof Mama to the local community, embracing the business' mission to introduce locals from all backgrounds to Tieyan's own excellent brand of West African cuisine.
A company spokesperson said: "The food has continued to be a hit everywhere it goes and we've become an incredibly popular option locally for corporate events and meetings.
"We've also seen success providing hospitality for charity organisations, educational events, and other private functions of all descriptions with our biggest client being the Imperial college London."
The blend of West African tradition with a pioneering modern-styled Nigerian cuisine makes for a unique and exciting flavour of street food; this is done by using all of the usual West African ingredients, such as plantain, rice, and brown beans, then preparing and cooking them in novel ways.
Jollof Mama provides events with something different, and part of their service can include setting up a street food stall at any chosen location, with the option to create a bespoke menu according to customer requirements and preference. They also cater to formal events and offer a range of service options for corporate catering.
The West London catering service takes its name from their signature Jollof rice dish, also serving West African classics such as Suya (BBQ beef) and chicken that is marinated in a peanut spice rub. They also offer Suya wraps and burritos, which combines the West African staple plantain with BBQ, lettuce and tomato or can instead be filled with Jollof rice and Nigerian brown beans.
