Headstones announce one-off London show to celebrate Halloween

Canadian punk-rock band the Headstones have announced plans to play a London gig this October.

The alternative band, which formed in Kingston back in 1987, will return to the United Kingdom for a one-off gig at 229 The Venue, Great Portman Street, London, on October 31.

Band members Hugh Dillon, Trent Carr, Tim White, Lyle Molzan and Rickferd Van Dyk, are inviting fans to celebrate Halloween in style, with fancy dress costumes welcomed at the venue.

Speaking of the gig, a spokesperson for Java Kiddo said: “It’s great to see Headstones come back to the UK for a one-off gig, and we’re all excited about the reaction from their fans.

“Combining the attitude and theatrics of the Headstones with the Halloween season makes perfect sense, and we can’t wait to see what some of the fans choose to dress up as for the gig.

“This show will be a real celebration of everything the Headstones have achieved so far and a chance for British fans to get up close and personal to a band they’ve known and loved for decades.

“I have no doubt that the boys will put on a show to remember – and perhaps even treat fans to some of the new material that they have been teasing on social media for the past several months.”

About the Headstones

Canadian punk-rock band Headstones formed in Kingston in 1987 and had become a real force within the Canadian punk circuit thanks to their anti-social behaviour and restless fans.

After almost six years of touring and songwriting, the band were signed to MCA Records in 1993, releasing Picture of Health and Teeth and Tissue, albums which went on to enjoy both critical and commercial acclaim.

Three more successful albums and a series of award nominations followed, and the band officially parted ways in 2003. In 2011, the band reunited at Toronto’s Sound Academy and announced plans to release new music the following year.

After releasing a free track for their fans, the band began a crowd-funding campaign to raise funds for their new album. Within a day, they achieved 100% of their funding goal, and by the time of the album’s release, had reached 295%, a testament to the passion and dedication of their fan base.

Headstones released Love + Fury in 2013, their first album to enter the top ten in their career, and achieved a JUNO Awards nomination for Best Rock Album of the year.

After a string of successful shows, the band released their next studio album, One In The Chamber Music, in 2014, which was followed by the ‘Fuck It’ vinyl album released in late 2015.

Now, with a back catalogue of iconic hits adored by thousands of fans, the bands is headed across the pond for a one-off gig to celebrate their career to date.

Headstones will play their one-off London gig on Monday, October 31. Tickets are priced at £25.50 and are available to purchase by calling 020 7323 7229, or by visiting the box office website at www.229thevenue.com.
