Millside Wigwams is now open, welcoming glampers to their state-of-the-art, en-suite Running Water cabins in a beautiful part of country.
Run by husband and wife team, Steve and Fiona Elnor, this brand new glamping site near Grantham, Lincolnshire is the ideal place to enjoy an open-air breakfast; watch cattle and sheep graze contentedly in lush pastures, and yet is just an hour’s train ride from London or York.
Close to the river Witham and home to a small working farm, this latest addition to the Wigwam® Holidays network includes six top-of-the-range luxurious Wigwam® cabins and is surrounded by farm tracks, cycles routes and visitor attractions.
Steve said: “Our site is only 10 minutes from the A1 and Grantham railway station, so just an hour’s train journey from London or York, making our farm a perfect and accessible destination for a family holiday, weekend getaway, romantic break or friends' reunion.
“As part of the Wigwam® Holidays experience, each of our deluxe cabins also has its own firepit provided.
“We’ve had a steady stream of bookings and due to our close proximity to the A1, we are very easy to reach by car. We’ve also had a great deal of interest from the local community who are fascinated by the Wigwam® product!
“We’ve tremendous support from Wigwam® Holidays in bringing this dream to fruition, further made possible by LEADER funding assistance. Our project was the first LEADER funding to be awarded in South Kesteven. The site fits perfectly with the objectives for LEADER funding, bringing not only an increased tourist footfall to the region, but also offering local employment too.”
LEADER funding is available to support farm diversification projects, boost rural tourism and other initiatives that will benefit the local rural community and environment as a whole.
Guests at Millside Wigwams can also hire bedding, and have use of a communal log cabin that includes table football, a pool table and other games.
Nearby local attractions include Belton House, Ancaster Activity Centre, the National Civil War Centre and the county’s historic capital city, Lincoln, is just a 40-minute drive away.
Prices start at around £85 per night based on two adults sharing one cabin and the family dog can stay for just £5 per night.
