Only a few weeks after the premiere of the long-awaited seventh installment of the franchise, Star Wars fans will have a unique possibility to meet two people who made their mark on the original trilogy – Kenny Baker, the man inside R2D2, and Brian Johnson, the man behind the Oscar-winning special effects in The Empire Strikes Back. Baker, aside from appearing in all seven Star Wars episodes as the daring droid, also played Paploo, the Ewok who steals a speeder from the Empire’s troopers in Return of the Jedi. Johnson had a successful career, having received an Academy Award for Alien (1979) as well as Saturn and BAFTA awards for other projects. The meeting will take place in the legendary Pinewood Studios, where Star Wars Episode VII was filmed, and can either be joined in person or online.
