Forum responds to CMA report into supermarket unfair practices

Ian Cass, the Chief executive of the Forum of Private business has welcomed the findings from the Competitions and Market Authority into unfair practices by the supermarkets.

Ian stated "our members regularly refer to the need for a level playing field, so transparency and fairness is one of the Forum's key objectives. Not only are misleading pricing and strategic offer policies unfair to consumers, but they also disadvantage small high street shops and businesses. We are pleased that the CMA has made clear that they will be monitoring the major supermarkets to ensure that these practices are stamped out."

A number of supermarkets are highlighted in the Forum's Hall of Shame for failing to provide transparent and fair pricing to their suppliers. Further information can be found at https://www.fpb.org/your-voice/hall-of-shame
