Ex- Soldier turns author in daring career change

Steven was an aircraft technician in the royal electrical mechanical engineers, achieving the rank of corporal and completing two operational tours of Iraq, and multiple major exercises in Kenya.

After six and a half years serving, he decided it was time for a change and wanted to pursue a career he was passionate about. Steven left the Army and attended the University of Cumbria, gaining a 2:1 in Film and TV production.

It’s no surprise when you Google this authors name that the first thing to come up is an actual serial killer. Stephen Griffiths, AKA The Crossbow Cannibal. This however had no bearing on his first novel ‘Diary Of A Psychopath’, just a happy coincidence.

The book is pitched as being a cross between “Psycho” and “Perks of being a wallflower”. It is a gripping and fast paced and will have the reader unable to put it down, with many reviewers finishing it in one sitting.

The pace of the book is somewhat helped, Steven says, by the fact he wrote it in THREE days, in an effort to get it finished before other commitments took hold. This only enhances the readers experience with a sense of urgency in the writing.

What the reviews say

With 4.4 stars out of 5 it’s hard to deny this little book has captured the imagination of it’s readers, here are a just a few of the reviews:

“Great book, it really gets you inside a psychopath mind, which is both intriguing and disturbing... It will keep you engaged from the first page, I read it in one go and bought the second one right after finishing it! I would highly recommend it.”

“An excellent debut, the author paints a picture of a mind just one step removed from the norm with flair, I devoured the whole thing on one sitting.”

What next?

Steven is currently working on a number of projects including a horror stage play and a spy thriller film for Celtic Storm Productions, as well as his third novel. It’s safe to say he is keeping busy.

‘Diary Of A Psychopath’ is available on all amazon stores, in kindle, paperback and audio book versions, along with the equally exciting sequel ‘Hunting the Psychopath’
