Easy Peasy Cooking supports Small Business Saturday

This year, Ipswich recipe kit company ‘Easy Peasy’ Cooking will be throwing their weight behind the Small Business Saturday campaign. Held on the 1st December, it encourages people to get out and support the High Street and small businesses. Having been given Social Enterprise accreditation, 'Easy Peasy' Cooking is well aware of just how vital small businesses are to their local community.

After years of economic hardship, low consumer confidence and increasing shop rents, many small business owners have been finding things tough. The organisers of the event hope a day of encouraging people to shop local will allow them to see just how valuable small enterprises are to the health of our villages, towns and cities.

Ian Bacon, owner of ‘Easy Peasy’ Cooking, said: “We realise this is just one day in the shopping calendar, but the impact can be enormous and lead to real positive change. The High Street is under immense pressure at the moment and we have to do everything we can to preserve our local shops and communities.

“This is a great chance for people to show they care. Help us out by paying us a visit this Saturday, to find out more about the fantastic work the team are doing in the Ipswich area and at our ‘Inspiration Academy’ in Wakefield Women’s Prison.”

‘Easy Peasy’ Cooking offer inspiration in the form of recipes and food kits, encouraging home cooks to be more experimental in the kitchen. They currently have over 50 kits and seasoning blends, featuring natural produce, herbs and spices to help aspiring chefs get creative.

The organisers of Small Business Saturday hope the event will attract millions of consumers to use their High Streets rather than lose them. On one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year, the event is already gaining momentum and getting its message across.
