E17 designer and artist Dominic Mandrell encourages consumers to keep it local this Small Business Saturday

Dominic Mandrell is a graphic designer with over 20 years' experience in producing branding, marketing and artwork for small businesses and charities - especially those working in the music and events sector. Highlighting the importance of working with independent professionals rather than larger marketing businesses when looking for a personal service, he emphasises the importance of campaigns such as Small Business Saturday, which takes place this year on December 1st.

Dominic said: "Working with a local design company or an independent professional offers a wealth of benefits, both for the client and the small business owner. Not only are clients more likely to get a unique and original service, but they will also be helping to boost the local economy and potentially raise the profile of their chosen partner.

"For small business owners like myself, campaigns such as Small Business Saturday are vital. Being able to support other small companies and encourage consumers to shop on their local High Street is truly rewarding for everyone involved."

Small Business Saturday takes place each year at the beginning of December, and consumers are encouraged to support a wealth of small businesses, from independent marketers and artists to boutique shops and taxi firms. The aim of the campaign is to have a positive and lasting impact on small businesses, with many of those taking part offering discounts and holding special events.

Dominic can provide a number of services - everything from branding for small start ups, to bespoke illustrations infographics and marketing strategy. Because he is also an events producer and DJ in his own right working on everything from literary events, street parties and festivals in excess of 35,000 people he also has all the combined skills to help businesses make their own events a success. Whether it be marketing and planning a restaurant launch, devising a social media plan for a bar, theatre, gig or festival or delivering impactful artwork for a book launch it's clear he offers a dedicated and personal service to all of his clients.

He added: "My experience is vast and diverse, which in part is down to my varied client base. However, I genuinely don't believe large companies can offer the same attention to detail, which is why everyone should head out on Saturday to show support for local businesses who work hard to offer a truly personal and unique experience."

About Dominic Mandrell Ltd

I am a graphic designer and illustrator who has worked in and around the live music, nightlife and festival industry for many years. The boundaries between producing artwork for other promoters as well as marketing their gigs and festivals and producing, conceiving and DJing at my own events blur all the time. I made a realisation that many of the skills I have developed in PR and marketing are transferable to restaurants/bars and the hospitality sector - they are essentially a branch of the entertainment industry after all. My recent contract with award winning Yum Yum thai Restaurant in Walthamstow looking after their social media and marketing needs confirmed this. So I am in the process of starting a new chapter with Tantalize media and creating an agency specialising in looking after the needs of this sector.
