Compiler British born Jamaican Marcia M Spence lives in West Bromwich. Like many of her co-authors Marcia has experienced significant difficulties in life. After a successful career, Marcia's health deteriorated and writing her own memoir Geraldine's Pearl also caused her to face the struggles and emotional trauma she had been through. She was diagnosed with a chronic neurological/nervous system illness known commonly as ‘the suicide disease’.
Trigeminal Neuralgia is a disorder of the fifth cranial (trigeminal) nerve. This typically causes extreme sporadic, sudden burning or shock-like facial pains in the areas of the face where the branches of the nerve are distributed – lips, eyes, nose, scalp, forehead, upper jaw, and lower jaw.
Marcia sunk to her deepest depths and began to isolate herself . She went to her G.P with symptoms of post traumatic stress and panic attacks. After accepting help from her three children and a number of professionals, Marcia has bounced back from what she describes as Rock Bottom.

Marcia began her current publishing business from her sick bed, as a hobby to help her get through her periods of ill health.
The book brings women from many backgrounds and industries together to share their stories, many are previously unpublished. The book encourages others not to give up, to find their purpose and focus on who they are and do what they are here to do. Marcia’s mother and daughter are also co-authors.
