Dazzle Makes Waves Across the Atlantic as it’s Crowned Winner in US Startup Final

Dazzle claims victory in nail-biting final of the 2017 EyeforTravel North America Startup Awards in Las Vegas.

With seconds to spare, Dazzle came out on top in the EyeforTravel North America Startup Awards in Las Vegas last week. Pitted against nine other emerging travel technology companies, Dazzle was named the winner in a closely fought battle for the crown.

The EyeforTravel Startup Awards, held annually, evolved to recognise the brightest new talent in the travel industry. The organisers call this distinguished competition a great opportunity to examine which startups have what it takes to make it in the cutthroat travel industry.

Dazzle improves the communication between guest and hotel through the use of voice, AI and chatbot functionality. Guests can ask Dazzle questions, on the move, through Facebook Messenger or simply speak to Dazzle once in their room using Amazon Echo devices. What started out as an idea written on a cocktail napkin in a Broadway Market pub late 2016 is now revolutionising the hotel industry. This use of bleeding edge of technology in the enterprise is set to bring about the next generation of hospitality.

Following selection in September as one of the finalists, Charles Cadbury, Co-founder of Dazzle, took to the stage on the opening day of EyeforTravel North America. Pitching in front of a judging panel of travel industry experts including Tim Hentschel, CEO at HotelPlanner.com, Brian Harniman, Managing Director at Brand New Matter, Utpal Kaul, Head of New Product Incubation at Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Matt Zito, Managing Partner at Travel Startups Incubator LLC, Dazzle faced stiff competition from a number of excellent startups.

An announcement at the evening networking drinks by Tim Gunstone, Managing Director at EyeforTravel revealed that Dazzle would progress on to the head to head the following day.

Pitted against Bizly, a meeting platform that allows companies to search and book event space in hotels, restaurants and activity venues, Dazzle took to the stage to battle it out in what would end in a tense, live audience poll to decide the winner. Neck and neck throughout the open voting process, Dazzle edged into the lead with 5 seconds to go.

Celebrating his close fought win, Cadbury said, “This award shows the desire of the leaders in travel to embrace the technologies of tomorrow. It is fantastic to get validation of Dazzle from such an esteemed group of industry gurus.”
