For Immediate Release

Luxury leather maker ST LEONARDS has launched its first customisable handbag in SCARLET for S/S 2018. The stylish & straightforward VAN DER ROHE is handcrafted in the UK from a single piece of leather and designed to be your most useful everyday handbag. It has an interchangeable strap available in four colours so you can personalise your look. Priced at £230 the VAN DER ROHE is available to purchase online or from ST LEONARDS MODERN GOODS, the unisex lifestyle store and seaside HQ in East Sussex.

“I wanted to make something joyful and playful to lift the spirits after winter so this season’s colour is SCARLET. Inspired by modernist architect Mies Van der Rohe’s approach of “less is more”, it is made from a single piece of leather and has no gusset but the supple nature of the leather allows it to elegantly "bulge" so you can pack a host of things inside, whilst still maintaining a stylish lean profile. For me, it has a beautiful simplicity that will stand the test of time,” says founder and creative director K Avery-Stallion.

The VAN DER ROHE is crafted from A-grade Italian veg tanned cowhide leather and available in eight colours – Chestnut, Cinder Black, Slate Blue, Berry, Grey, Scarlet, Fir Tree Green and Tan. It is a cross body bag designed to be worn across the chest and comes with a choice of brass or nickel fittings and a choice of four straps to add colour and contrast to your existing wardrobe.

Slow Travel Hastings

Welcome to Slow Travel Hastings, a cultural guide to the world famous Sussex seaside town.

Through interviews, features and profiles I hope to go a little deeper than the average travel guide to showcase this raw, diverse and creative town. I am inspired by the Slow Food movement, a global, grassroots organisation which campaigns for a better way to eat and celebrates regional traditions, gastronomic pleasure and a slower pace of life.

I believe in a more personal and organic form of travel, which is about getting beneath the skin of a place so that when you leave you have a better understanding of its people, passions and politics. www.slowtravelhastings.com.
