Could retirement be the perfect time to start your own business?

On the 12th of April residents of Wormley and Turnford are invited to attend a FREE interactive self-employment talk at the Wormley Community Centre.

The business session ‘Reinvent Your Retirement’ is aimed at ‘retired’ or ‘soon to retire’ residents who have considered self-employment but feel they may have left it too late.

The session will cover: idea generation; the different ways of starting a business; and how self-employment may impact on your pensions. There will be guest speakers and business advisors on hand to give advice, support and, most importantly, encouragement!

Sharon Gaffney, Head of Education for Wenta said:

“The number of self-employed people aged over 65 has increased by 80% in the past 5 years. 43% of small business owners are now over 50 years old which proves that you are never too old to consider self-employment. People are realising that the only thing stopping them is themselves! Hopefully this session will mark the start of the journey to self-employment for many local residents.”

The interactive session is a joint project between the ‘The Big Local – Wormley and Turnford’ and Wenta, Hertfordshire’s largest enterprise agency.

If you’re a Wormley or Turnford resident who has ever considered starting your own business, or considered turning your hobby into a business, then book onto this FREE ‘Reinvent your retirement’ session and gain expert advice on why self-employment might be for you.

The event is on Tuesday 12th April from 9.00am to 12.30pm at Wormley Community Centre and is free for all Wormley and Turnford residents. To book your seat visit www.wenta.co.uk/reinvent-your-retirement or
