Clean Battery technology company on a charge and gaining momentum
• SECURED SEED CAPITAL INJECTION FROM WALES BASED INVESTORS
• APPOINTMENT OF EXPERIENCED ADVISORY BOARD
• NEW CLIENT AND STRATEGIC PARTNER AGREEMENTS
Perpetual Vehicle 2 Grid Systems (P-‐V2G), a specialist in the design and delivery of advanced battery power management solutions today announced that it has recently closed £215,000 in seed funding to further accelerate the company’s commercial potential. This investment round has been led by Catalyst Growth Partners, a high growth business accelerator with participation from Smart Anchor Ventures and angel investor, Tony Nicol.
PV2G’s CEO / Founder Andy Ling says. "We’re thrilled to have secured this funding from such prominent investors. The new funds will provide us with the necessary operating cash flow to fulfill a sizeable order book we’ve won whilst allowing us to develop product variants for new application areas including sustainable power for medical refrigeration and solar power storage. We’re also planning to hire a number of new employees to help with sales, service and development”.
PV2G based in Lampeter and Cardiff’s Life Sciences Hub, are fast becoming another start-‐up success story born in South Wales. The company have already won a couple of “Clean Technology” Awards for their patented power management system used in refrigerated delivery vehicles. Earlier this year the company was named as a UK Top 15 clean-‐tech company by Innovate UK and won a place on the ‘Clean & Cool’ Mission to California, USA.
To assist and guide P-‐V2G’s management the company has appointed an experienced Board of Advisors made up of Ashley Cooper, Director of Catalyst Growth Partners, Tony Nicol, a veteran executive of the global automotive industry and Mark Hindmarsh, Director of Smart Anchor Ventures.
Tony Nicol commented, “I’m pleased to have become a shareholder in such a dynamic young company like PV2G. The team are truly innovating the world of power management using lithium technology configurations. The global market for refrigerated delivery vehicles is huge and therefore I’m sure the company has a bright future”.
Ashley Cooper says. “The decision for our firm to invest in PV2G was quite simple once we’d met Andy and his Co-‐founder Luke Jones and saw their technology in action. We recognize significant growth potential across a number of vertical market application areas and geographical territories”.
“PV2G has progressed significantly in the last 9 months winning industry accolades and some big name anchor clients. They’ve achieved a great deal to date with very little resource and as new shareholders Smart Anchor Ventures are excited to see what the future holds for the company considering its growing customer opportunity pipeline.” said Mark Hindmarsh.
As well as the new funding, PV2G has attracted new strategic partners Clayton Power and Carrier Commercial Refrigeration in addition to clients including Sainsbury’s and British Gas.
