Celebrate International Hot and Spicy Food Day, says Easy Peasy Cooking
International Hot and Spicy Food Day is coming up tomorrow, and Suffolk based Easy Peasy Cooking is urging people to mark the occasion and make it a red-hot one!
Aimed at heat seekers and chilli lovers everywhere, the day is for anyone who loves a bit of fire and spice with their food. And it could present the perfect chance to try something new – after all, Creole, Caribbean, Indian and Thai cuisines, among others, offer a huge variety of delightfully peppery dishes.
Or if you’re really entering the spirit of the thing, you could always throw on some fancy dress or stage a chilli-eating contest.
Ian Bacon is the owner of Easy Peasy Cooking, which provides mealtime inspiration in the form of more than 50 Inspiration Recipe kits and seasoning blends aimed at tickling the tastebuds.
He says: “We’ve got plenty of ideas for curry lovers and heat seekers, whether you’re a carnivore, fish eater, vegan or vegetarian. We love bringing our customers food ideas from around the world.
“Why not try something a little fiery this International Hot and Spicy Food Day? If you really don’t like your meals too hot though, we have plenty of milder options.”
More than 90% of the company’s recipes are aimed at dieters and those on weight management plans, and there are options for eating without sugar, salt, gluten, dairy or wheat.
Easy Peasy Cooking has recently been accredited as a Social Enterprise business, and is currently working with HMP New Hall prison in Wakefield, providing training and work experience for 25 prisoners, through their 'Thyme for Work' project.
"By providing training whilst in prison, and work opportunities on release, we are breaking the cycle of re-offending. We already have two ex-offenders now working full-time for us in the Yorkshire region" says Ian Bacon, "and we plan to take on five more by Easter.”
